So imagine: you've been shot into space. You're going to
be counting the years on your fingers. To fill up some of your
time, between the science and flying, what would you take -
music or books? Or would you have to take both?
In 2004 we sparked a debate to get people thinking about their
passion for music and words, how they work together and what
they would like to see live and in the flesh. In 2006 we continued our search and, in
music venues across the country, we once again put the words
centre stage…
Phrased & Confused takes words and music and mixes
them to create a delectable sensation for you music lovers and
secret poetry penners alike. In October 2006 we took our last offering
out on the road bringing together the exciting talents of
Emma Pollock (of The Delgados fame), protest singer and
narrative songwriter Chris T-T, the modern blues poetry
of Brendan Cleary and the two man spoken word soundscapes
of Sore Throat. They laid bare their words,
beats, lyrics and rhymes in a diverse and intimate live show.
